Financial Information - Accessibility Services

Find information that will allow you to understand and utilize financial assistance for your studies.

Students with disabilities can access several different funding sources to help support their academic costs. The Accessibility Services Office works closely with Student Financial Services and Financial Aid Advisor to determine eligibility and help apply for applicable grants, bursaries, and government funding sources.

Scholarships, Awards, and Bursaries:

Students with disabilities may be eligible to apply for financial supports through scholarships, awards, and bursaries available within Tyndale. To review eligibility, visit Tyndale Financial Aid or email financialaid [at] tyndale [dot] ca (subject: Tyndale%20University%20-%20Student%20Financial%20Aid) .

OSAP

In order to apply for any government funding, students must first apply for OSAP – this is required to determine eligibility for disability-related grants, bursaries, or for funding an assessment.

Grants for students with permanent disabilities:

Students who are approved for OSAP and live with a documented permanent disability may be eligible for the Grant for Students with Permanent Disabilities. Students can apply for this grant by checking the 'permanent disability field' on their OSAP application. Students are not required to take the loan portion to be eligible for this grant. Students will require medical documentation and may need to request a letter from Accessibility Services confirming their permanent disability status.

Bursaries (BSWD & CSG - PDSE)

Students with disabilities may be eligible to apply for Bursary for Students with Disabilities (BSWD) and/or the Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment for Persons with Permanent Disabilities (CSG-PDSE) to cover educational costs related to their disability. Students can learn more about these bursaries and their eligibility by contacting the Accessibility Specialist.
