Win Michael W. Smith Tickets & Meet The Burger’s Priest!
April 2012
I write this note to you - the Tyndale alumni family - in the middle of Holy Week. Palm Sunday is behind us and Easter is just ahead.
The children danced up the centre aisle at church last Sunday waving palm branches and singing "Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!" Matthew 21:9
In the same way crowds were chanting and cheering as Jesus entered Jerusalem that day. No one could have imagined that just a few short days...

February 2012
Bill Swanson, the CEO of Raytheon Corporation, has written a small book called “Unwritten Rules for Management”.
He offers suggestions like “strive for brevity and clarity in oral and written reports” (Rule #14) and “Don’t ever lose your sense of humor.” (Rule #24) It also offers more strategic tips like, “if you are not criticized, you may not be doing much.” (Rule #3)
One of the rules that resonated with me read,...

Tyndale giveaways, 20 free tickets to Promise Keepers & Jobs
November 2011
Tyndale alumni are a dynamic and gifted group of people. We recently celebrated fall graduation with over 110 students joining the alumni family. Half of the graduates received their B.Ed. degree and will take up teaching positions in schools in Ontario, across Canada, and around the world. I received a phone call from Iqaluit last week from a Tyndale graduate who is beginning his first term teaching at a small Middle school. Please pray for Ian and his wife as they experience their first...

For everything there is a season
June 2011
Martin Luther King Jr. told us to "take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step." I am taking that first step in my own life and ministry by pursuing a ministry opportunity with the Samaritan's Purse/Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada.
As your Alumni Director the past three years, I have been blessed to see God at work in your lives as you take your own steps of faith; walking out His call and...

First One There, Last To Leave
On the morning of May 26th I attended the Ontario Prayer Breakfast and had the opportunity to hear from fellow Christian and retired CBC foreign correspondent Brian Stewart. Brian spoke about the role that Christians have played throughout the world in responding to humanitarian needs and made the statement that the Christians he worked with around the world were the "first one there, last to leave" in responding to the needs of...

May Alumni Update
May 2011
With every May graduation at Tyndale I find myself reflecting on the years since my graduation and ask myself this question best reflected in the writings of philosopher Os Guinness: There is joy, in fulfilling a calling that fits who we are and, like the pillar of cloud and fire, goes ahead of our lives to lead us. Our gifts and destiny do not lie expressly in our parents' wishes, our boss's plans, our peer group's pressures, our generation's prospects, or our society's demands....

April Alumni Update
April 2011
The Class of 1961 came to Tyndale in April to celebrate their 50th year graduating from the school. During the chapel service we sang "He Leadeth Me" and the testimonies shared later over fifty years echo the lyrics of the chorus that "By His own hand He leadeth me." The Psalmist writes from the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Whether you are a recent graduate or coming up on your 50th year...

March Alumni Update
March 2011
A dear friend of mine who spent some time studying at Tyndale in the late 1990's died tragically in March while serving in Zambia. Rob Hall lived life for God in all its fullness. Many have been impacted by his death and one of his students in Zambia wrote his memory of Rob as "Everywhere and willing". Paul writes to the Philippians: I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the...
