If you're not sure which direction to go in your career, the Career Centre has resources and solutions that will get you unblocked. Follow the three steps below to get started.
1. Explore the Possibilities
Find out where your major can take you by visiting a career advisor or following some of the relevant links on the Resources page, under Options for Your Major.
2. Discover Your Strengths
Assess your own strengths and personality by using tools such as Myers-Briggs and Spiritual Gifts Inventory. Use those tools to help you plan out a route that makes sense and fits in with your own passions and interests. A career advisor can walk you through that process and help you find you calling.
3. Try Something New
Experiment with various career paths by volunteering or applying for an internship at a company that interests you. Look into the Internship section of the Services page to find out more.
Q. I am unclear about my career directions or I am thinking of making a change in my major, but where do I start?
A. Start with some self-assessment tools to assist you in identifying what skills, interests and values that line up with your values and God given talents. Assessments such as Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Strong Interest Inventory or FIRO-B can be taken online through Tyndale Counselling Services.
