Explores the countries of Africa, Asia and South America, which are home to a growing majority of the world's population. Students are introduced to the political history and institutions of these countries; the general problems of poverty and instability; the various approaches adopted to deal with these problems and the varied experiences of particular countries in achieving their goals.
