What is Field Education?

Field Education units are non-credit graduation requirements for the BRE degree and Certificate in Christian Studies: Transitions. Field Education involves a placement in a ministry setting in an area of interest to the student. The required units must be completed in order to graduate.

Why does Tyndale require students to do Field Education?

  • to provide the student with ministry opportunities in which he/she may develop some key skills
  • to assist the student in identifying spiritual and character development
  • to allow the student to gain experience in a variety of service settings
  • to give the student an opportunity to reflect on his/her calling in life

How to Find a Placement

Students may find a Field Ed. placement in one of the following ways:

  • Search in Service Opportunities.
  • Contact an agency that is of interest. Click here for some options.
  • Choose an opportunity that you already know about.

Speak to your faculty advisor about an appropriate choice for your field placement.
