We are seeking an Associate Minister for Children & Youth or An Intern / Field Placement Student with empathy and spiritual depth, a person of mindfulness and commitment to pastoral presence in our community, a creative person who is insightful. We pray for a meditative person who is comfortable and interested in sharing the experience of their spiritual journey and we hope for one who will genuinely enjoy the social aspects of parish life, with particular emphasis on serving our children and youth.

Position: Part-time position of 20 hours per week. Some flexibility required.

Compensation: Compensation is available and will be negotiated.

Start: January 1 or ASAP

Purpose: The purpose of this position is to facilitate programing that nurtures the faith formation of children and youth on their spiritual journey. It is a position that works directly in the implementation of the children’s ministries of Godly Play, the youth ministry, and other initiatives.

Responsibilities:
• Assess spiritual and other needs and interests of youth and children, and develop program accordingly
• Recruit, train, and screen volunteers for youth ministry and Godly Play ministry in accordance with the Diocesan Responsible Ministry; Screening in Faith Policy.
• Help coordinate and oversee special events such as ASK Kids, youth events, youth Easter Vigil, The Way of the Cross, Everybody Upstairs etc.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.

Skills/Knowledge Required:
• Theological training, ideally in the area of Christian Youth and Children’s Ministries.
• Proven successful experience working with children & youth, ideally in a Christian setting.
• A commitment to ongoing spiritual growth and professional development.
• The ability to relate to children, youth their families, volunteers and parish leadership.
