Opportunity Description

Mission Statement
English as a Second Language program will allow us share
the love of Jesus Christ with immigrants, international students and refugees
in our community. We will provide them with a friendship network to smooth
their transition to the life in Canada. We desire that many of them will
choose to follow Jesus themselves through their contacts in this fellowship
of believers.

Volunteering Opportunity in ESL Ministry at Immanuel Baptist Church (Ongoing)
Many new Canadian immigrants and refugees have a great need to learn how to
communicate in English in order to find jobs, make friends, acquire their
citizenship, etc.

The English as a Second Language (ESL) Friendship Ministry of Immanuel is a
program run by volunteers from various occupational backgrounds that are
committed to share the love of Jesus Christ. Through the ESL course, we offer
English lessons, share our knowledge of Canadian customs, and provide a
friendship network which will smooth newcomers’ transition to becoming
Canadians.
