Recent News

  • Philosophy major Aylish Chantler was accepted into the Ph.D. program in Philosophy at the University of Oklahoma as well as M.A. programs in Philosophy at Northern Illinois University, Western Michigan University, and Ryerson University. Aylish has decided to enroll in the Ph.D. program at Oklahoma starting in the Fall of 2010.
  • Philosophy major Kris Wilkinson was accepted into the M.A. program in Interdisciplinary Humanities (Philosophy Focus) at Trinity Western University and the M.A. program in Philosophy at Ryerson University. Kris has decided to enroll at Ryerson starting in the Fall of 2011.
  • Philosophy major Wayne Veenstra was accepted into the M.Div. program at Calvin Seminary and will begin in the Fall of 2011.
  • Philosophy major Wes Mallory was accepted into the M.A. program in Interdisciplinary Humanities at Trinity Western University and will begin in the Fall of 2011.
  • Philosophy alumnus Joshua Layton-Wood was accepted into the M.A. programs in Philosophy at the University of Sheffield and at the University of Leeds. He was also accepted into the B.Phil. program in Philosophy at the Oxford University. He'll begin at Oxford in the Fall of 2011.

  • On March 24 Professor Paul Copan will deliver the lecture "Slavery and Genocide? A Fresh Look at Two Old Testament Issues" at 7:00 pm in the Van Norman Study Centre. Website | Flyer
  • On March 25 Professor Paul Copan will deliver the lecture "The Naturalists are Declaring the Glory of God: Theistic Arguments from the Unlikeliest Places" at 9:00 am in room 2041. Flyer
  • On March 3 Dr. Myron Penner will deliver a lecture titled, "Reformed Epistemology, Theistic Arguments, and Rational Belief in God"" at 1:00 pm in Room 2085. Flyer
  • Philosophy alumna Dr. Sarah Lublink had her paper "Who May Live the Examined Life? Plato's Rejection of Socratic Practices in Republic VII" accepted for publication in the British Journal for the History of Philosophy. Her article can be found online here.
  • Tyndale's Philosophy Department was awarded the Small Department Lecture Grant from the Society of Christian Philosophers to bring a prominent philosopher to campus. Stay tuned for more details.
