Dr. Hayhoe worked for many years in science and technology education in Toronto as teacher, coordinator, and teacher trainer. He was co-author of the Ontario textbooks Addison Wesley Science & Technology 4-8 (Pearson, 1999), Science & Technology Perspectives 7-8 (Nelson, 2009) and Science Perspectives 9-10 (Nelson, 2010). His current research focuses on teacher understanding of the curriculum topics of soils, energy conservation, water systems, and climate change, and teacher engagement with sustainability and stewardship from a Christian perspective. He has presented at the American Geophysical Union’s conferences in San Francisco (2010, 2012), the Soils Science Society of American’s conference in San Antonio (2011), and the International Christian Community for Teacher Education’s conference in Azusa (2012), and published peer-reviewed papers in Weather, Climate, and Society (2011) and Sustainable Agriculture Reviews (2013).
