Faith Talks 2011: Art & The Formation of our Humanity

Tyndale University College & Seminary is pleased to present the 2011 Faith Talks Lectures in Christian Spirituality.

This year’s guest is W. David O. Taylor, former Arts Minister at Hope Chapel, Austin, Texas and current Th.D. student at Duke Divinity School, Durham, North Carolina.

David, also the author and editor of For the Beauty of the Church, will speak on the intersection and engagement of the arts, culture, and Christian theology and spirituality.

There will be three main lectures, the first on Tuesday October 25 at 11:30 am, the second on the same day at 8:00 pm, and the third on Wednesday October 26 at 11:30 am. All lectures are free and open to the public.

Lecture Times:
  • Tuesday, October 25, 11:30 a.m. - "The Spirit of the Matter: the Holy Spirit and the making and remaking of our bodies"
  • Tuesday, October 25, 8:00 p.m. - "Art, Grace and the Problem of Abundance: or why our imaginations matter"
  • Wednesday, October 26, 11:30 a.m. - "An Ordered Heart is a Free Heart: the psalms and the reordering of the emotions"

 

All lectures will be held in the Van Norman Worship & Study Centre.
All lectures are free and open to the public.
