Applying for Financial Aid

How to Apply for Bursaries

  1. Go to the Tyndale Awards site: apply.tyndale.ca.
  2. Under “Current Students”, click on “Sign In”.
  3. Sign in with your MyTyndale username and password.
  4. Click on “View Applications” to see all available scholarships, awards, and bursaries you can apply for.
  5. Find the "Application for Tyndale Financial Aid" and click on “Apply Now”. The Application for Tyndale Financial Aid is the one application to apply for to be consider for all of Tyndale's bursaries.
  6. Complete all required tasks for the application by clicking on "Start" for the respective task.

Note: Tasks must be completed in order:

  1. Student Profile
  2. Form Financial Need Form
  3. Disclosure Form
  1. When all tasks are finished, click on “Submit”.
Note: You can go back and edit your entries at any time before clicking on “Submit”. You do not have to complete the application in one session. You cannot go back to make any edits to your application after this step.
  1. You are done! You will receive a response regarding your eligibility for financial aid within two weeks. You can apply for other available scholarships and awards.

Additional Tips

  • The deadline to apply for bursaries is Sept. 30th, 2018.
  • Apply early! Do not wait until the deadline to apply. The earlier you apply, the earlier you can find out what you may be eligible for.
  • Apply for any bursary or award you are eligible for. You are not limited to apply for just one award.
  • If you complete the Student Profile Form and the Financial Need Form once, you will not need to complete it again this year for other scholarship or awards you are applying for. The task will show up as “Complete” for subsequent applications. The Student Profile Form and the Financial Need Form will reset at the end of the academic year.

Tips about Specific Application Criteria

Financial Need Form

  • If you are applying before the start of the school year, you will need to estimate your reported financial information. In the case that your financial information changes (i.e. increased/loss in income), please inform Student Financial Services and we can help you make the adjustment.
  • For the “Financial Need Form”, do not forget to complete the “describe your personal or family financial circumstances” question on page 3 as it helps give the financial aid committee context into your situation.

Uploads (i.e. Papers, Reference Letter, etc.)

  • Acceptable upload file types: .jpeg, .jpg, .doc, .docx, .pdf, .png
  • For reference letters/letters of recommendation, please receive them from your pastor, professor, or any supervisor who can speak qualities in reference the scholarship criteria. Please do not get a friend or family member to write one for you.
