The Alberta government is the maintainer and developer of this nicely designed website for health and physical education. Although designed for the Alberta curriculum many of the resources can be used in Ontario as well.

This website contains a database of teacher-submitted lesson plans for physical education; a bibliography of valuable resources; curriculum models and more. There a database on the site that allows teachers to search for lesson plans based on grade, desired outcome; and there is a lesson plan generator that allows teachers to design lesson plans on their own.

Each pre-designed lesson plan contains its own assessment strategies; equipment needed; what adaptations users can adopt and more. There is also an authorized resources section that allows teacher candidates to look up authoratative teaching resources for the teaching of physical education.

The CyberMuse website is an initiative of the Gallery of Canada created to provide internet users, teachers, parents and students access to its permanent collection.

This free site is a virtual museum, learning portal and a teacher resource site all packed into one. Users can expect to find over 10,000 images of works from the Gallery’s collection. The site also contains video and audio recordings of world renowned artists and it also contains a number of valuable resources that teachers can use in the classroom.

Parents and teachers should also check out the children’s section with its “Artissimo” games. Kids can visit this section and use colour palettes to choose and colour a large number of classical images. There’s also opportunity for kids to experiment with and create tertiary colours.

The Youth section also contains a number of interesting resources, from career information for jobs in the arts; post-cards; advanced art games and more.

This is a great site with a little something for everyone. While visiting be sure to provide the Webmasters continual feedback and suggestions as the site is continually growing and evolving.
