Barry SmithA special congratulations to Dr. Barry Smith, Senior Vice President Academic & Dean of the University College, on his recent appointment to the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) Chief Academic Officers Commission. This commission primarily serves as a representative voice for the Chief Academic Officers towards program support in workshops, themes and scheduling of annual conferences.

The CCCU is an association for Christian higher education institutions globally. It comprises over 180 bodies, most of which are located in the United States. Since its accreditation as a university college in 2003, Tyndale has been affiliated to the CCCU. For Tyndale, sharing experiences and challenges in Christian higher education is one of the benefits of being part of the CCCU. Dr. Smith looks forward to bringing a uniquely Canadian voice to this broadly US-based landscape.

Tyndale’s association with the CCCU, alongside other universities in Christian higher education, provides an opportunity for mutual support and encouragement in an ever-changing and challenging world. In an effort to remain relevant and on the leading edge of the academic scene, Tyndale continues to participate in affiliations and accountability structures on a variety of fronts.
