First Class Graduates From Tyndale Intercultural Ministries Centre

Toronto—Tyndale is proud to announce the graduation of the first class the Tyndale Intercultural Ministries (TIM) Centre. At the ceremony, 18 students were awarded certificates in Foundations in Missional Ministry & Church Leadership.

The TIM Centre provides students with a missions-oriented education tailored to prepare them for ministry in a multi-cultural environment. According to its mandate the, “TIM Centre…offers exposure to international mission leaders who offer academic and practical teaching related to missions.” For 15 months, students learned together in a cohort and completed 4 courses in missions and leadership. Their multi-cultural education was not limited to the lectures, however, as 17 out of the 18 students were born outside of Canada, bringing diverse perspectives, experiences and cultures to the classroom.

The ceremony took place in the auditorium of the Bayview campus on February 13, 2012. In attendance were Guest of Honour, Dean Janet Clark, as well as the program professors: Dr Michael Krause, Dr Narry Santos, Clint Mix, M.Div. and Rev Trevor Seath, M.Div. Directed by Robert Cousins, B.A., B.Th., M.A., “The Foundations in Missonal Ministry & Church Leadership seeks to provide accessible and affordable training to immigrant church leaders to be certified by the denominations partnering with the TIM Centre.”.

Three students were recipients of the Certificate with Distinction: Myra Naval, Anita Jorge-Brio and Leonardo C. Mones, Jr. Several other students received Certificates of Completion and Certificates of Attendance. The Tyndale community would like to congratulate the first graduating class of the TIM Centre as they enter into multicultural ministry in Canada and around the world.
