In Memoriam: Marion Ahrens

Friday, March 11, 2016

The Tyndale University College & Seminary community is deeply saddened by the loss of Marion Ahrens, who died suddenly at her home on March 4, 2016. Marion was a beloved and dedicated part-time instructor of Tyndale’s Bachelor of Education (BEd) program.

Marion began her involvement with Tyndale’s OCT accredited teacher preparation program as a Tribes trainer back in the spring of 2011. She then began teaching the program’s introductory course, Creating Safe, Engaging and Inclusive Learning Environments, to the 2012-2013 cohort. She was a committed and exceptional educator.

“Tyndale graduates and current Teacher candidates remember Marion as someone who inspired them to embody teaching excellence as she did,” says Carla Nelson, Associate Professor of Education and Director of the BEd Program. “She loved being part of Tyndale’s BEd program.”

The Tyndale community offers its prayers and condolences to Marion’s family and friends, to her school colleagues and to her students.

A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, March 31, 2016, at 5 p.m. at Richmond Green Secondary School, 1 William F. Bell Parkway, Richmond Hill, ON L4S 2T9.
