Tyndale's Brand Refresh
Tyndale University College & Seminary is pleased to reveal a refreshed brand. "Inspire", "move", "challenge" are words that encapsulate two years of research, focus groups, and interviews with students, faculty, alumni and staff.
Whether it was an alumnus who graduated decades ago or a current freshman, people used similar descriptions when talking about Tyndale. It was from this feedback that the new look was created – one that better reflects the vibrant, active Tyndale community.
It was also evident from the research that the Tyndale community was extremely proud of its heritage. To honour this, the refreshed logo maintains three main elements from the previous edition that pay homage to Tyndale’s history. The first is the year of Tyndale’s founding, 1894. The second is the Greek phrase “douloi Cristou” which translates to “servants of Christ”. As well, the lamp with a flame has been retained, but updated. This is a graphical illustration of the verse Psalm 119:105.
The new logo has an updated crest which is fresher and reveals a more modern look. It also utilizes a bolder font for the word “Tyndale”, with smaller fonts used to provide the variations for the institutional name, whether it is “University College & Seminary”, “University College”, or “Seminary”.
Tyndale’s decision to refresh the brand coincides with preparations to consolidate operations onto its Bayview property. The new look captures the vision of Tyndale’s future that will be further embodied with its new location.
