A time for strategic visioning

Tuesday, November 17, 2015

After months of prayerful consideration and review, the Board of Governors of Tyndale University College & Seminary has directed Tyndale to strategically reposition itself and reduce its operating costs to better ensure its future viability and growth. This decision will enable Tyndale to move forward with a model that is sustainable and will result in greater teamwork and creativity across the organization.

Tyndale will maintain all of its current degree programs and student services. The end result will be an increased flexibility and the development of accessible high quality programming that addresses the interests and needs of today's students.

At the university, theological literacy and the foundational humanities of a liberal arts education will continue to frame our academic mission. At the same time, we need to respond to the natural growth potential of our professional programs.  Growth at the Seminary has been measured and continual over the years. The strengthening of our academic and student services combined with flexible delivery systems and faculty commitment to the spiritual formation of our students has led to this growth.

“This is a time for strategic visioning as we focus on our growth potential,” according to Dr. Gary V. Nelson, President and Vice Chancellor of Tyndale University College & Seminary. “It will however be a challenging year as we set our direction for the future and manage our fiscal health. It is time to make difficult and important choices to start the next chapter of our development. Please pray for Tyndale, our colleagues and students as we move into this new chapter.”
