After an eight-month search, The Board of Governors is honoured to present Dr. Douglas Loney as the new Vice-President and Academic Dean of the University College, effective May 1st, 2011. He will be joining us from Redeemer University College, where he served in various administrative levels over the last 23 years, including Dean of Arts and Foundations, Associate Dean, Division of Literature and Fine Arts, Director of Research and Faculty Development, and Chair to multiple departments within Redeemer’s faculty.

“Douglas Loney is an excellent administrator with a heart for Christian higher education. He has proven ability to move the areas of his responsibility to efficient and collegial outcomes,” says Dr. Gary Nelson, President of Tyndale University College & Seminary. “In the next chapter of our expansion onto the new Bayview campus, Dr. Loney’s skills as an administrator and collegial leader will serve to be strategically crucial in our future. We are thrilled that he is joining us in this challenging chapter of our life at Tyndale.”

With the past year’s twenty percent increase in new students at the university college and signs that growth is continuing this year, Tyndale’s future is exciting. Dr. Loney’s expertise will assist in accelerating this growth and the awareness in the academic and Christian communities. He will play a significant role in Tyndale’s continued faithful commitment to academic excellence and Christian witness through its quality undergraduate programs.
