Tyndale Seminary Continues to Break Enrolment Records

Thursday, October 22, 2015

Tyndale Seminary continues to grow, welcoming over 780 students for the fall term 2015. This represents an almost 15% growth over five years, making Tyndale the largest graduate theological school in Canada.

According to the 2015 Annual Data Tables of the Association of Theological Schools, 100 of the 266 members in the United States and Canada have grown over the past 5 years. Tyndale is one of the seminaries that have experienced growth.

This comes at an exciting time for Tyndale as the community settles into our new 56-acre campus on Bayview Avenue. High enrolment numbers and consistent growth uniquely position Tyndale to continue implementing new ways of providing high quality, relevant and accessible theological education.

Because of the size of the school, Tyndale students are offered a wide breadth of course options, with over 100 courses on the calendar for this fall semester alone. Students also have the benefit of choosing from one of the largest selection of focus areas, from Biblical Studies to Counselling, to Global Mission and Intercultural Studies. More and more students are looking to combine studies with work and ministry, and Tyndale is able to meet the needs of part-time and distance-education students through a variety of accessible formats, including online, evening, weekend and one-week intensive courses, as well as a strong Summer School program.

“The breadth and accessibility of the seminary’s study options helps advance its mission of educating and equipping the whole people of God for faithful and effective service,” says Janet Clark, Senior VP Academic and Dean of the Seminary.
