Community Chapel - Dr. Alan Anderson

Alan Anderson, Vice President; National Director for University Ministry for Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship in Canada, graduated from Stanford University in 1980 with a B.S. in Biochemistry, received an MBA at the University of Washington in 1984, and a Master's of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1999. He finished his D.Min in leadership from Gordon-Conwell Seminary in 2007.
Alan joined InterVarsity in the summer of 1984 as a full-time campus staff worker at the University of Washington. During his time at that campus, the chapter grew significantly and became the "flagship" student group in Washington. As Regional Director, Alan strengthened and expanded InterVarsity's ministry in the Northwest by recruiting and training numerous graduates to serve as InterVarsity staff. This has been accomplished through an innovative apprenticeship program. He has also developed a management training program with the goal of raising up numerous staff directors. In 2004 Al became the National Director for University Ministry in Canada. Here he hopes to apply many of his leadership initiatives to the work of I-V throughout Canada, as well as grow many new ideas as he partners with the staff team.
