Tribos Chapel - Dr. Doug Loney

Dr. Douglas Loney was appointed to the post of Vice President Academic and Dean of Tyndale University College, effective May 1, 2011.

Born and raised in Grimsby, Ontario, Douglas Loney studied at Brock University (BA Hon) and McMaster University (MA, PhD). His doctoral dissertation was a study of the philosophical and religious dimensions of C.S. Lewis’ fiction, and his research interests since then have embraced the works of Lewis, Tolkien, Auden, Herbert, Chaucer and Shakespeare. He has edited several books on biblical worldview and the narrative shape of scripture.

Dr. Loney joins Tyndale University College & Seminary from Redeemer University College, where he taught a wide range of course in English and served several administrative roles including Dean of Arts and Foundations. His interests outside of the academy include music, theatre, scuba diving, sailing and carpentry.

Douglas and his wife Karey are the proud parents of Bethany, Grant, Laura and Kathleen, and have recently moved to Newmarket as contented empty-nesters.
