Psychology
Tyndale's psychology program is dedicated to the pursuit of academic scholarship, and its practical applications in various careers. Our psychology program is built on opportunities for student-driven learning and research. It includes the practical application of psychology for the real world.

Our undergraduate psychology program will provide the opportunity to participate in assisted and independent research projects. You will have the opportunity to study the psychology of linguistics, counselling, and childhood development. You will apply methodological research skills that you will use in the future.
Practical Experience
Studying psychology at Tyndale gives you practical experience in research labs, diverse practicum, social skills groups, seminars, and Tyndale’s Research in Autism and Community Education (TRACE) camps. By working with these groups, you will get a taste of the possibilities in your future with a psychology degree.
Tailored
Tyndale’s Bachelors of Arts in Psychology presents itself in a wide range of fields of study. You can focus your studies on behavioural psychology, developmental psychology, as well as the psychology of linguistics. You can remain as broad or as focused as you like, giving you the option to tailor your studies according to your interests and career goals.

Areas of Specialization: Autism, Developmental Delays, Child Psychology.
Dr. Azarbehi has over a decade of experience working as a researcher and therapist within the field of Autism. She comes to Tyndale having spent the last two years completing her training to become a child psychologist in Toronto area hospitals working with young children with a wide range of developmental challenges. Prior to her move to Toronto, as a member of the New Brunswick Autism Steering Committee, she helped to secure funding for, create, and run a province-wide autism intervention training program. Dr. Azarbehi’s research focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of early autism intervention programs.

Areas of Specialization: Marital and Family Therapy
Dr Noh’s area of specialization in both clinical practice and research is in the area of Marriage and Family Therapy. She completed her internship at Glen Roberts Child Study Center and Verdugo Mental Health, in Southern California, working with children, adults, and families, dealing with mental health issues, including depressive and anxiety disorders, ADHD, and PTSD, as well as family system issues, such as marriage and parenting. Her areas of research interest include Applied Psychology and Counseling with an emphasis on the integration of psychology, theology and spirituality.

Dr. Sujin Yang did her undergraduate studies in Spanish and English (Literature and Linguistics) in Seoul, South Korea. Since attaining her Ph.D. and MA in Developmental Psychology from Cornell University (USA), she completed postdoctoral training at the National University of Singapore (Singapore), University of Toronto Scarborough (Canada) and York University (Canada) working in labs specializing in bilingualism, language development, and literacy. She has designed and carried out a multi-disciplinary research program with approaches from various disciplines—developmental, cognitive, experimental, and cross-cultural psychology—to investigate a variety of higher-order cognitive functions (e.g., inhibitory control, working memory, cognitive flexibility, planning, and monitoring abilities) considering how language learning experience (i.e., bilingualism) modulates the development of these functions in children and adults.
