Prayer Meetings
Chinese Students’ Support Group
The Chinese Students’ Support Group is made up of volunteers from the Chinese student body who aim to provide support to fellow Chinese students in their spiritual, relational, and academic areas of life. The Chinese Students’ Support Group also acts as a liaison with faculty and staff of the Chinese Ministries.
Weekly prayer meeting is organized by the group during each semester to give prayer support for the entire Tyndale community.
In Fall 2009, prayer meeting is held on Tuesdays at 5:30-6:00pm in Room 1001. All students are welcome to join.

Mentorship Program for Students since 2000.
What it isn’t:
- Is not trying to advise students on academic matters such as course selections, or majors and foci in studies.
- Is not trying to advise students on field work, for this is the job of their ministry supervisors in their fields of service.
What it is:
-
Provides students with a spiritual mentor to help them form good habits of spiritual discipline and not let academic studies and ministry replace private devotion during their studies at Tyndale.
- The mentor, as a mature, objective third party will support and guide the student with his/her own experience and insight. The two parties will meet regularly (say once a month) and have in-depth sharing and communication about life and faith.
-
The relationship is to last for one calendar year (January to December), unless there is mutual agreement to continue afterwards. In that situation, the two parties will arrange further meetings on their own.
As for the mentors, we are seeking help from the pastors and experienced Christian workers in the GTA. We are matching mentor and mentee according to the gender, focus and need of individual applicant.

serving in churches and para-church organizations.
This program is designed with the following distinctiveness:
- It provides a process to mentor, support, encourage, and mold these Christian servants
- It involves the nurturing of the whole person, including physical, psychological, social, cultural and spiritual dimensions
- It helps the servants to understand human relations in ministry, the person’s own leadership style, and how to work with different types and styles of people
- It helps the servants to develop their ministry so that it becomes effective and accomplishes their goals and objectives
- It helps the servants to deal with specific issues and topics in ministry, and examines pastoral counselling issues, life issues, and others like ethical issues
- It offers a unique learning experience of both individual interaction with a mentor and group learning
Program Design
The program consists of individual meetings, group meetings, discussion and interactions, presentations, case studies, and small group learning. The frequency of meetings is about 4 hours per month.
