Doctor of Ministry (DMin)

Doctor of Ministry (DMin) Programs

The Doctor of Ministry (DMin) is the highest earned degree for the profession of ministry. It is intended to advance understanding of the nature, purposes and practice of ministry, enhance ministry and leadership competencies and encourage continued growth in spiritual maturity.

3-Year, In-Ministry Program

Tyndale’s DMin program is designed to be completed while continuing in ministry. It includes 9 weeks of residency to be completed in 3 years. The residencies are in 1 to 2 week blocks in the same time frame each year. Students will spend at least one day a week on DMin assignments in addition to the residencies and their project work.

Collaborative Learning

You will journey through the DMin program in a cohort environment with caring professors who are both topic experts and actively involved in ministry and colleagues who will support you along the way. Your colleagues will work with you in small groups where you will receive peer-to-peer feedback and develop relationships that can last a lifetime.

Doctor of Ministry (DMin)

DMin is the appropriate degree for those with a Master of Divinity or equivalent, at least three years of ministry experience and a desire to deepen and broaden their ability in their area of ministry calling.

Post-Doctor of Ministry (Post-DMin)

Students who already have a Doctor of Ministry degree can complete a Post-Doctor of Ministry Certificate in multiple areas of focus. The Post-DMin is designed for people who want to take additional courses as continued education.
