John Francis
John holds an MDiv in Spiritual Formation from Tyndale Seminary, and a Master of Theology from Toronto School of Theology with a concentration on the history and practice of the spiritual life.  John is a Certified Spiritual Director and has been offering spiritual direction in Burlington since 2006.  His main interests are spiritual theology, spiritual formation and transformation.

Fundamental to the spiritual life is our reciprocal response to the initiative of God; therefore, contemplative awareness is important for spiritual growth.  And so John's spiritual direction aims to facilitate awareness of the Holy Spirit's spiritual direction, to help deepen participation in grace and the discovery authentic selfhood toward being drawn into Christ's mission.  In practice, John comes alongside Christ followers to listen and to help them in their relationship and experience of God, with the goals of spiritual formation, authentic spirituality and a freedom for giving oneself more fully to God for the love of God and neighbour.

John is married to Lois, has 3 children, makes a living in engineering work, and is involved at ForestView Church in Oakville.  You may contact him by email at openwells [at] gmail [dot] com
