Membership Qualifications

  1. Regular Membership
    Individuals who have graduated from a degree program at Tyndale Seminary or an ATS (Association of Theological Schools) accredited school and have received training as a spiritual director in a recognized program, or who have received the CSD (Certified Spiritual Director) designation, and who subscribe to the Tyndale Statement of Faith.

  2. Associate Membership
    Individuals who are currently enrolled in a degree program at Tyndale Seminary or an ATS accredited school and are receiving training as a spiritual director in a recognized program, or who are in the process of completing the requirements of CSD designation, and who subscribe to the Tyndale Statement of Faith.

    (Associate members enjoy the same benefits as regular members, with the exception of serving on the Executive Committee.)

  3. Grandparenting
    Until July 1, 2009 individuals who do not have the qualification for regular membership can apply to join the Association as regular members if they have:
    (a) graduated from Tyndale Seminary or an ATS accredited school, or who have received the CSD designation, and
    (b) received training as a spiritual director, and
    (c) practiced spiritual direction for 3 or more years under supervision, and
    (d) subscribe to the Tyndale Statement of Faith.

  4. Friends of the Association
    Individuals who have theological and spiritual direction training, and who subscribe to the Tyndale Statement of Faith; or individuals involved in vocational ministry who either practice spiritual direction or desire connections with TASD, as a way of enriching their ministry, and who subscribe to the Tyndale Statement of Faith.

    (Friends of the Association enjoy the same benefits as regular members, with the exception of serving on the Executive Committee and having the right to vote in the affairs of the Association.)
