Church Planting in the Post-Christendom Urban Context
Church Planting in the Post-Christendom Urban Context [PAST 0670]
Two increasingly significant aspects of contemporary western societies are the continuing transition from Christendom to post-Christendom and the impact of urbanization on all areas of life. Both of these aspects have multi-faceted implications for the church and its involvement in God’s mission. This course examines the challenges and opportunities of the emerging post-Christendom context, paying particular attention to the urban environment in which the realities of post-Christendom have long been evident. It explores various missional responses within this context, including the practice of church planting, and the ecclesial developments that accompany this practice.
Juliet Kiplin, Pastor, Development Worker and co-founder of Urban Expression will be a guest lecturer in this course.
