Areas of Specialization: Systematic theology, the theology of Karl Barth; Contemporary theology; Trinity; Christology; theology of the Resurrection.

Dr. Dawson has served as a local church pastor since 1987 in Fellowship and Canadian Baptist churches in the Greater Toronto Area.  He currently serves as Lead Pastor at the Uxbridge Baptist Church in Uxbridge, Ontario. 

He has taught Hebrew Grammar, Hebrew Syntax and Reading, the Life of Christ, Apologetics, Ethics, and Basics of Small Groups at Toronto Baptist Seminary & Bible College.  Since 2006, he has taught a variety of theology courses at Tyndale University College, including Contemporary Theology, the Doctrine of God, Christology, Resurrection Seminar, Pneumatology, Scripture, Ecclesiology, Creation, and Eschatology.

Dr. Dawson’s doctoral dissertation has been reworked and published in the notable Ashgate Barth series entitled The Resurrection in Karl Barth (Ashgate, 2007, ISBN: 978-0-7546-5555-8).  He has also written the Introduction to the reprint of Karl Barth’s The Resurrection of the Dead, (Wipf & Stock, 2003, ISBN: 1-59244-383-4), and the article on Resurrection in the soon to be released Westminster Handbook to Karl Barth

Dr. Dawson is a member of the American Academy of Religion, the Evangelical Theological Society, the Karl Barth Society of North America and the T.F. Torrance Society.
