If you are an international high school student or transferring from another university outside of Canada or the United States, this is the place for you! Below you will find the information for your country’s specific entrance requirements to Tyndale. Make sure to read our English language requirements and translation requirements concerning your education.

American Curriculum

General Requirements

  • Graduation from an academic or college-prep program
  • Four years of English (not ESL) to the senior level
  • Three years of Mathematics to the junior level
  • A minimum of four senior-level academic subjects
  • Either (a) SAT I with a composite score of 950 (out of 1600) or 1420 (out of 2400) or higher, or (b) ACT with a score of 20 or higher, plus Writing with a score of 10 or higher; in countries where the SAT and ACT are unavailable, exemptions may be granted

Documents required 

  • An official transcript of courses and grades completed from your freshman to junior years
  • Courses and grades for the first semester or first trimester of your senior year. For an offer of admission to be confirmed, your school must send Tyndale University your final official transcript as soon as it becomes available.
  • Official SAT or ACT + Writing results (sent directly to Tyndale University by the testing organization)

International Baccalaureate

General Requirements

  • 3 higher level
  • 3 standard level
  • Extended Essay
  • Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
  • Creativity, Action and Service (CAS)
  • Plus any diploma points
  • Minimum total of 24 points - due to limited enrolment, a higher score is required in order to be competitive for admission to many programs

Documents Required

An official transcript showing all courses and grades completed from grades 9 to 11, and a transcript that shows all other courses in progress (including IB courses).

A statement of your anticipated higher level and standard level IB grades, as well as additional points for essays and TOK. This statement must be sent directly from your school, bear a school stamp or seal, and be signed by your school's IB Coordinator.

Your final official IB results from the IB organization are required to confirm your offer of admission and award advanced credit. Please ensure that you have authorized the IB organization to release your grades to Tyndale University. This can be done by emailing your request to transcripts [dot] ibna [at] ibo [dot] org. Please include your full name, date of birth, high school, year and month of exam session(s).

British Patterned Education

General Requirements

Applicants must achieve standing in at least 5 subject areas, including English, with at least 3 A-levels (or 6 at the advanced subsidiary level). A subject may not be counted at both the A-level and the GCSE level (O-level).

Admission average is calculated on at least 2 GCSE's (O-levels) and 3 GCE A-levels (or 6 Advanced Subsidiary levels).

Documents Required

Applicants need to submit a certified true copy of their General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) or other O-level certificate, certified by the school, plus their predicted General Certificate of Education (GCE), advanced or advanced subsidiary levels, or other A/AS level certificate. Each page of the copied GCSE (or O-level) document should be both stamped and signed by the certifying school.

For an offer of admission to be confirmed, applicants must submit their final A-Level Certificates as soon as they become available.

Argentina

Bachillerato. Certificates must be official. Photocopies are acceptable if certified by school principal, head, or counsellor. Notarized copies are not acceptable. Grades required for admission will vary by program, but based on the Argentina grading scale, the minimum average needed to fall within the competitive range is approximately 8 out of 10.

Bahamas

Applicants presenting Bahamas General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) require satisfactory standing in at least five academic subjects, of which one must be English. To be eligible for consideration grades must be C or greater.

Commonwealth of Dominica

Caribbean Examinations Council Secondary Education Certificate with satisfactory standing (scores of 1 or 2) in at least five academic subjects, of which one must be English. Must also present at least two subjects at the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level. To be eligible for consideration, grades at the Advanced levels must be C or better.

Ethiopia

Ethiopian School Leaving Certificate Examination (ESLCE). Students who achieve five subject passes at grade C (or the GPA of 3.0 out of 4) are generally eligible for undergraduate entry.

Germany

Marks from 12th and first semester of 13th grade from Gymnasium. An average of 9 or greater on five academic courses one of which must be German.

Ghana

West African Senior Secondary School Examination results. Students must have an average of "C4" on five academic courses, including English. The results must be sent directly to Tyndale University by WAEC or students can purchase a scratch card and send Tyndale University the required information to verify their results on http://ghana.waecdirect.org/. Students must also have their secondary school send their transcript.

Great Britain/Other Countries with GCE Equivalent Examinations

General Certificate of Education with satisfactory standing in at least five academic subjects, of which one must be English and at least two must be at the Advanced Level. To be eligible for consideration, grades at both the Advanced and Ordinary levels must be C (3) or better.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong Certificate of Education (HKCE) and Hong Kong Advanced Level Certificate (HKALE). Certificates must be official. Photocopies are acceptable if certified by school principal, head, or counsellor. Notarized copies are not acceptable. Grades required for admission will vary by program, but based on the Hong Kong grading scale, the minimum average needed to fall within the competitive range is a minimum B average (a combination of mainly A and B grades).

An average of "satisfactory" 50% - 60% on five academic courses on the India Senior School Certificate awarded by Central Board of Secondary Education/Indian School Certificate (awarded by Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations - CISCE). Year 12 State Board Exams with excellent results will also be considered individually.

Indonesia

Sekolah Menengah Tingkat Atas Certificate and EBTANAS results. Certificates must be official. Photocopies are acceptable if certified by school principal, head, or counsellor. Notarized copies are not acceptable. Grades required for admission will vary by program, but based on the Indonesia grading scale, the minimum average needed to fall within the competitive range is approximately 8.5.

Nepal

An average of 50% or greater (division two) on five academic courses on the Higher Secondary Certificate. Students with the School Leaving Certificate need to take the Proficiency Certificate awarded by Tribhuvan University Kathmandu.

Nigeria

Students applying from Nigeria must present their West African Senior Secondary School Certificate results. Students must have an average of " C4" on five academic courses, including English. The results must be sent directly to Tyndale University by WAEC or students can purchase a scratch card and send Tyndale University the required information to verify their results on www.waecdirect.org. Students must also have their secondary school send their transcript.
Students who have already studied at the post-secondary level must present their official polytechnic or university transcript sent directly to Tyndale University by the institution.

Completion of secondary education, with a secondary school leaving certificate from any national programme and showing a pass of 90 per cent of the points required (to include knowledge of Swedish and English).

Grades required for admission will vary by program, but based on the Switzerland grading scale, the minimum average needed to fall within the competitive range is approximately 5 out of 6, or 8 out of 10.

Certificate of Secondary Education(CSE) and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE) Admission requirements: two principal passes and one subsidiary pass in the ACSE examinations, combined with five passes at CSE level.

Venezuela

Completion of secondary education (Bachillerato) with an average of 15 on five academic courses, one of which must be Spanish, in the last year of Bachillerato. Students should also forward their academic aptitude test (prueba de aptitud academica) results.

Students must obtain five Merit-level passes on the Zambian School Certificate in grade XII, in order to gain admission to undergraduate study.
