Week 10

  • Notes:
    • Be aware that one main verb (even an implicit "to be" in a verbless clause) can govern a long string of participial clauses.
    • When faced with a participle, remember that it will usually modify the closest main verb (or agreeing nominal) *that makes sense*.
    • Note that the relative pronoun ἧς in 1:6 actually precedes its "antecedent."
    • In 1:8, remember that definite articles are often used in place of a relative or demonstrative pronoun
