Position Description

Tyndale University, Undergraduate, is looking for a Lecturer (one year, full-time contract) to teach six courses offered in-person, on campus during the 2022-23 academic year in the area of Health & Human Services. This position also entails providing supervision for students completing their Practicum placements.


The successful candidate will have a MSW and preferably a PhD in a related discipline together with field experience in related social sciences and health sciences.  Proven experience in teaching is a priority with experience in digital forms of communication and online learning an asset.



  • Teach the following scheduled courses in health & human services – Introduction to Sociology I & II; Introduction to Social Work; Social Determinants of Health; Advanced Studies in Women’s Health; Applied Skills – Health & Human Studies (three course teaching load in both fall and winter terms)
  • Supervise upper-year students completing their Practicum in Psycho-Social Health & Health Determinants.
  • The courses are already scheduled and will be taught on-campus with a possibility of streaming availability for students unable to attend in person.
  • Provide support to Health & Human Services students as appropriate and relevant.
  • Administrative and technical support and orientation will be provided by the university’s offices of academic administration, information technology and distributed learning.


  • Attend and participate in the monthly faculty meetings and community life of the university.
  • Meet at least monthly with the academic dean, or designate, during the fall term, both for support and directions as needed.
  • Participate in the faith life of a local congregation.
