Spring in the Chapel Cancelled
Dear alumni and friends of Tyndale,
For the past several weeks, Tyndale has been monitoring the COVID-19 situation. We know members of our community are concerned. Precautionary measures to protect the health of our community have already been put into effect. We continue to follow the advice of Ontario Health, who are making decisions as new information and circumstances arise.
Ontario’s chief medical officer of health has recommended the immediate suspension of all large events and public gatherings of over 250 people due to the virus.
This means that Tyndale’s beloved Spring in the Chapel concert is cancelled.
If you have purchased a ticket, refunds will be issued during the days ahead. We ask for your patience and grace as we work to process these refunds.
Cancelling an event like this is not an easy decision. The donations and ticket revenue provide substantial support to Tyndale. Should you be able, we thank you for prayerfully considering a donation in lieu of attending this year’s concert.
While Spring in the Chapel has been cancelled, a concert will be planned for the fall semester, likely to coincide with Homecoming on Saturday, September 26. More details to come.
Thank you for supporting Tyndale University and students. Together, let us join in prayer for our neighbours and communities as we weather this global issue.
Tyndale’s annual Easter season concert is directed by Dr. Melissa Davis, featuring the Tyndale Community Choir, Tyndale music students, Tyndale Band, and The String Ensemble. A special segment honouring Dr. Gary Nelson's 10 years of leadership will be a highlight of the afternoon program.
This event is part of the A Decade of Leadership: Honouring Dr. Gary V. Nelson event series. You are also welcome to attend other A Decade of Leadership: Honouring Dr. Gary V. Nelson events:
