Established in 1894, Tyndale is a university college and seminary rooted in the evangelical protestant tradition, located in Toronto, Ontario. We offer our students comprehensive and broad educational opportunities integrated with a faith perspective. As a private institution, Tyndale does not ask for funding from the Government of Ontario unlike other public universities.
Tyndale has grown over 125 years to be the largest graduate school of theology in Canada and a thriving and creative undergraduate university. There have been name changes over the years as well as geographical relocations, but Tyndale’s mandate has remained the same: to form and educate a generation of students to influence and shape the world through their everyday lives and vocations. Through all these iterations, students have always understood that graduating from this place is not only about earning a degree but beginning a transformational calling to live a faithful life of difference. Alumni have been doing this for 125 years and have taken on corporate, social service, ministry, arts-related and post-graduate level positions all over the world.
The Tyndale undergraduate university experience is known for high quality academics that are interwoven with faith. It is a community of students and faculty that challenges each other to live authentically, follow Christ and actively engage their culture. Tyndale Seminary, long recognized for its innovation and creativity, prepares people to lead and live from the core of a vibrant Christian faith in a postmodern, pluralistic and multicultural society. The seminary’s graduate degrees provide a comprehensive theological foundation and offer one of the largest selections of specializations in theological education in North America. Tyndale students, through academic rigour, practical application and dialogue, develop the skills needed to examine their beliefs, work through issues and engage their culture with the gospel.
