This week Dr. Tim Tang, Director of the Tyndale Intercultural Ministries (TIM) Centre, will be speaking. Tim’s message, based on Psalm 89:1-8, is entitled, “Lucky 2020!” Needless to say, this year has been challenging. This past January, as the new year rolled around, many were eager to launch into the advent of a new decade starting with the visionary numbers – 2020 – with hope and expectation. By March, almost everything had changed. Yet, as Tim says, we need to continue to “learn to acclaim our God, who is faithful not just throughout the generations, but this very day.”
Rev. Dr. Timothy Tang is Associate Director of the Tyndale Intercultural Ministry Centre. He was born in Toronto where he lives with his wife Joanne and their three children. After studying at Upper Canada College, he completed his B.Sc. in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo. Though Tim planned a career in healthcare, God called him to full-time ministry during a short-term missions trip to Asia in 1996. He then completed his M.Div. in Youth and Family Ministry at Tyndale Seminary. Since that time, Tim has been involved with worship ministry and leadership training ministry, and completed the 2-year Arrow Leadership program. Tim has also recently completed a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership at Gordon-Conwell Seminary. He is the English pastor at the East Toronto Chinese Baptist Church.
