Early English Protestant Spirituality

Commences with an examination of the English and Scottish Reformations, then investigates aspects of Elizabethan Puritanism, contrasting the latter development (16th century) with 17th-century Dissenting Puritanism. The works of three respective Puritan thinkers are read: Bunyan, Baxter, and Edwards. Same as HIST 764 and THEO 635. Prerequisites: THEO 531, 532.
