Residence Philosophy & Standards

Please read the following information carefully.

Philosophy of Residence Life

Tyndale recognizes the experience of Residence living as a valuable part of a student’s education. Research and student reports have shown that those who live in Residence form lasting friendships, gain a greater understanding of themselves and other people, are more involved in extra-curricular activities, and have more opportunities to interact with faculty and staff, thus enhancing their development.

Knowing that Residence living is conducive to the education of the total person, all single, first and second-year Tyndale University College students under 20 years old are highly encouraged to live in residence unless living with their parents or legal guardian.

Application Process

This application is for one academic year only – September to April (July to June for B.Ed.applicants). Please note that your Residence Application will not be processed until you have been accepted as a Tyndale student and your Character Reference has been received by Admissions.

Your Residence Application will be passed on to the Department of Student Life for processing and you will be notified by email regarding your acceptance into Residence. Due to the limited space in Residence we only have a select number of single rooms.  Therefore, not all requests for single rooms will be provided.  All applicants will be notified if they have been given a single room or a double room.  If you have not had a response to your application in a reasonable amount of time, please feel free to contact us to enquire about it. Please do not assume that your application has been approved unless you have received written notification.
