Extending Impact with Tyndale's Open Learning Centre

Tuesday, October 2, 2012

Tyndale University College & Seminary is pleased to introduce Tyndale’s Open Learning Centre. The Tyndale Open Learning Centre will extend Tyndale’s impact into the community by providing learning opportunities through multi-platform continuing educational programs, non-credit classes, workshops, and seminar opportunities.  The Centre will also be a way for Tyndale to serve the community, churches, and Christian organizations that have supported Tyndale over the years. Tyndale’s unique ability to convene diverse groups of people, church denominations and ministries will allow the Centre to provide resources and consultation services to a broad constituency.

The Tyndale Open Learning Centre incorporates three main arms: The Tyndale Leadership Centre, the Tyndale Intercultural Ministries (TIM) Centre and the Tyndale Spiritual Formation Centre (TSFC).

The Tyndale Leadership Centre designs market-driven strategies, courses and services that help develop Christian leaders serving in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. Developing online experiences for partners including Next Level Leadership and the Canadian Council of Christian Charities, the Tyndale Leadership Centre also develops online international courses for leaders in Nigeria and Ghana.

Expertise for those working in intercultural and multicultural contexts is provided by the TIM Centre. With relevant and affordable programs for emergent multicultural leaders, the TIM Centre provides forums, roundtable discussions, seminars, conferences and Brown Bag Lunch events.

The TSFC offers practical learning to help people in their spiritual journey through forums, discussions, retreats, spiritual direction, and educational certificate programs. It also networks those in ministry and lay ministry while providing resources to help professional development.

Tyndale is a Christian university college and seminary that prepares leaders for work in the private, public, and not-for-profit sector, ministry, and the global mission of the Church. Tyndale offers fully accredited programs in a wide range of disciplines at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Undergraduate students may study towards a BEd, BA, and BRE degree or a certificate in Christian Studies. Graduate-level education includes a doctor of ministry degree; master's degrees in divinity, theological studies or theology; and a graduate diploma in Christian Studies, Missions or Spiritual Formation. Currently, Tyndale has almost 1,300 students representing over 40 denominations and 60 ethnic backgrounds and 9,500 alumni. Founded in 1894, Tyndale is strategically positioned in Toronto.
