Areas of Specialization: Management Accounting, Finance, Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics.

Including his two dissertations, Dr. Alpenberg has published three books in the area of capital budgeting and a number of articles and reports within the area of entrepreneurship and regional development. He also co-authored with Scarbrough, P.D. and Burch J.G.: Costs: Reduction, Analysis & Measurements, Sakura House Publishing, Toronto (2007). At present, he is working on research projects in capital budgeting, lean production and positive management. One of the projects is a joint research endeavour with Professor Paul Scarbrough from Brock University, Canada. The project title is "Diffusion of Cost Management Innovations." and is financed by SSHRC. Dr Alpenberg is also working on a research project, titled "Meaning centered approach to Positive Management", together with Professor Paul T.P. Wong. Dr Alpenberg teaches a number of courses in business administration with a focus on accounting and finance.

Area of Specialization: Phonology, Phonetics, Morphology, South Asian languages.

Paul Arsenault has worked as a linguist with SIL International and its partner agencies since 1997. He has lived and traveled extensively in South Asia, doing language research, teaching linguistics and providing consultant support to NGOs involved in literacy, translation and other language development projects. He is currently writing his doctoral thesis at the University of Toronto.

Areas of Specialization: Autism, Developmental Delays, Child Psychology.

Dr. Azarbehi has over a decade of experience working as a researcher and therapist within the field of Autism. She comes to Tyndale having spent the last two years completing her training to become a child psychologist in Toronto area hospitals working with young children with a wide range of developmental challenges. Prior to her move to Toronto, as a member of the New Brunswick Autism Steering Committee, she helped to secure funding for, create, and run a province-wide autism intervention training program. Dr. Azarbehi’s research focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of early autism intervention programs.

Areas of Specialization: Systematic theology, especially the tradition stemming from Karl Barth; Christianity and culture, especially the thought of H. Richard Niebuhr, John Howard Yoder and Lesslie Newbigin and the history of Christian perspectives on war and peace.

Dr. Carter served as a pastor for seven years in Baptist churches in Prince Edward Island and Moncton, N.B. and has taught philosophy and religious studies at Atlantic Baptist University. From 1995-2000, he served as Vice President and Academic Dean at Atlantic Baptist University. From 2000-2004, Dr. Carter served as Vice President and Academic Dean of Tyndale University College and led the process of obtaining provincial permission to offer the BA degree. Since 2004, he has moved into full-time teaching. Dr. Carter has published a number of articles in books, journals and dictionaries and also has published two books: The Politics of the Cross: The Theology and Social Ethics of John Howard Yoder (Brazos Press, 2001) and Rethinking Christ and Culture: A Post-Christendom Perspective (Brazos Press, 2006). Dr. Carter teaches the core courses: “Introduction to Christian Theology” and “Christianity and Culture,” as well as electives in theology and ethics. Dr. Carter is a member of the American Academy of Religion, the Evangelical Theological Society and the Karl Barth Society of North America.

Dr. Crouse is the author of three books, An American Stand: Senator Margaret Chase Smith and the Communist Menace, 1948-1972 (Lexington Books 2010), Dear Senator Smith: Small-Town Maine Writes to Senator Margaret Chase Smith about the Vietnam War, 1967-1971 (Lexington Books 2008), Revival in the City (McGill-Queen's University Press 2005), and over a dozen articles on popular religion and political and foreign policy topics. He teaches the History of Western Civilization II, surveys of Canadian and American history, the United States - Middle East relations since 1945, and a seminar on US foreign policy since 1945.

Rick has over thirty years experience in public education as a teacher and school administrator. He has worked in the elementary and secondary panels, two Boards, with the Ministry of Education and during a sabbatical,
at the Child Development Clinic of the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children. His passion in education is to open up the instructional doors for all types of students. In particular he focused on models of providing equitable and enabling instruction for students with special needs. This focus grew out of his professional experience, his family journey raising two boys with learning disabilities and as a foster parent for Young Offenders, all of whom had major struggles in school. As a result, in three of his schools as Principal, he developed the model of inclusion, where students of all abilities were provided their education in a regular class with appropriate accommodations and modifications and where support was brought to them. Rick also is involved in the utilization of assistive technologies by individuals and the implementation of assistive technologies as universally accessible throughout a school.

Elizabeth Davey has taught English Literature at Tyndale since 1976. Over the years she introduced a variety of courses - Milton, Studies in C.S. Lewis, Canadian Literature and Culture, Key Figures in American Literature, Religious Themes in Literature - that anticipated the larger literature curriculum of a Christian liberal arts university. In 1998, she was appointed both Director of the Leading Edge program and the Department Chair of the Humanities and Social Sciences Department. From 2000 to 2004, she served the University College as Associate Dean. She also developed and directed the Writing Centre.

Dr. Davis is the author of The Metaphysics of Theism and Modality (2001) and he has published over a dozen articles in various academic journals, including Australasian Journal of Philosophy, The Modern Schoolman, Philosophia Christi, American Catholic Philosophical Quarterly, Religious Studies, The Journal of Medicine and Philosophy, Heythrop Journal and Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society. Prior to joining the Tyndale faculty in 1999, Dr. Davis taught philosophy, logic and ethics at both York University and the University of Toronto.

Areas of Specialization: The biblical canon; the idea/reality of biblical theology; Psalms; the history of interpretation.

Dr. Driver has co-edited two books on the Book of Hebrews, The Epistle to the Hebrews and Christian Theology (Eerdmans, 2009) and A Cloud of Witnesses: The Theology of Hebrews in its Ancient Contexts (T&T Clark, 2008). In October 2008 he successfully defended his PhD in Divinity (Old Testament) at St Mary’s College, University of St Andrews. It bears the title “Brevard Childs: The Logic of Scripture’s Textual Authority in the Mystery of Christ" and is currently being revised for publication.

Areas of Specialization: 19th century British political, religious and imperial history.

Prior to coming to Tyndale, Dr. Faught taught at the University of Toronto and Mount Allison University. He is the author of two books: The Oxford Movement: A Thematic History of the Tractarians and Their Times (Penn State University Press, 2003) and Gordon: Victorian Hero (Potomac, 2008). A third book, The New A-Z of Empire: A Concise Handbook of British Imperial History (I.B. Tauris) is forthcoming in 2011. He is currently working on a biography of the Oxford Africanist, Margery Perham. He has also written a number of articles and reviews. He teaches in the areas of western civilization, European, British, and British Imperial history and is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a Senior Fellow of Massey College, University of Toronto.
