Disability, Theology and Spiritual Formation Certificate

This is an introductory program in Disability Theology. Students will examine the realities of living with a disability in contemporary society and their theological and spiritual implications. These modules will also delve into a practical theology regarding living and working with individuals with disabilities and their incorporation into our spiritual communities.

This session offers an explanation of MAiD, enriched by an overview of its a) legal development (Criminal Code) and b) medical development (eligibility and safeguards and latest Health Canada report). It also introduces two tensions faced by clinicians and medical facilities: conscientious objection and the relationship between MAiD and other forms of end-of-life care, including palliative care.

Wright has said, “Christian imagination rekindled by Scripture is vital to refresh our engagement with our contemporary culture.” The imagination is an important avenue for spiritual formation, but more than just a personal and private devotional practice, the imagination is the embodiment of hope. The imagination becomes a catalyst for living out the reality of the kingdom of God as an alternative to and a protest against adopting the culture that surrounds us.

“A Day in the Life” is a unique on-campus experience designed to give prospective students an authentic look at what it means to be a student at Tyndale University. Prospective undergraduate students will be paired with current students who will serve as hosts for the day.
