Biography

Dr Lee’s been teaching at Tyndale since 2019. His interests include the influence of Religion, Philosophy, and Classics on literature, particularly in the nineteenth century, some of which he explored in The Platonism of Walter Pater (2020). He believes in the mission of the traditional university’s search for truth and beauty and works to exemplify this in his Introduction to Literature courses, based on the Great Books model, beginning with Homer and Virgil, and moving through St Augustine to Dante, from Milton through Austen to Dostoyevsky, and into authors of the twentieth century. He’s currently researching the writing of John Henry Newman.
