Dr. Narry Santos Appointed to Seminary Faculty
Tyndale Seminary is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Narry Santos as Assistant Professor of Christian Ministry and Intercultural Leadership, effective July 1, 2018.
Dr. Santos brings an impressive background that combines scholarly rigor with frontline ministry and church planting experience. Born in the Philippines, he started his career with a degree in civil engineering but quickly moved onto theological studies culminating in a PhD in New Testament, along with a PhD in Philippine Studies.
Having already taught as an adjunct instructor both at Tyndale Seminary and the Tyndale Intercultural Ministries (TIM) Centre, he is well versed in Tyndale’s mission and ethos. “One of the key contributions he will make to the seminary is helping to educate and equip interculturally skilled, missional leaders for church planting and church leadership in our multicultural context,” says Dr. Janet Clark, Senior Vice President Academic & Dean of the Seminary.
For more than two decades, Dr. Santos has served as a full-time pastor and church planter. His previous appointments include pastoral positions with Saddleback Church South Manila in the Philippines and Greenhills Christian Fellowship in Canada, where he planted six churches across the nation.
Dr. Santos currently serves as Vice President of the Evangelical Missiological Society in Canada. He has published several academic and ministry-related books and has contributed book chapters, scholarly papers and articles in international academic journals and other publications. He has taught at a variety of seminaries and educational institutions in the Philippines and Canada and is a frequent speaker at conferences and retreats.
Tyndale Seminary is dedicated to the development of faithful, biblically grounded and interculturally effective leaders for the church in Canada and the world. Dr. Santos further strengthens our ability to carry out our mission of developing Christian leaders who will faithfully engage culture with the Gospel.
