Man of Sorrows, God of Victory | Hundreds celebrate the joy of Easter at Spring in the Chapel 2026

Singers in the Tyndale Chapel during Spring in the Chapel 2026

In observance and celebration of Easter and the gift of life we have been given in Jesus, Tyndale University welcomed over 400 guests to Spring in the Chapel on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

The sold-out afternoon of music and praise saw Dr. Melissa Davis lead the Tyndale Community Choir (TCC) and TCC Band as Dr. Ken Michell and the Tyndale Band, the Tyndale Singers directed by Dr. Jamie Hillman, Tyndale Jazz Combo directed by Brandon Davis, along with guests Saj McKenley, Jackie Benford, and a string quartet brought the Easter story to life.

The worship experience began with opening remarks from President and Vice Chancellor, Dr. Marjory Kerr, who welcomed the crowd and spoke of the immensity of Easter. Senior Vice President of External Relations, Kevin Kirk, welcomed Tyndale student Rebecca Rowe, BA 2027, who shared her story. Notable songs like “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” “Is He Worthy?” and “Man of Sorrows” were sung and relished by all.

Tyndale alumni were invited to gather for an alumni lunch preceding the concert. They enjoyed a time of fellowship and connection with one another while supporting current students. We extend a special thank you to Deeks Insurance for sponsoring the alumni lunch.

Spring in the Chapel is a benefit concert. We are grateful to our gracious sponsor Alan Kan Portfolio Management Team, ticket sales, and donations from concert guests that will go to support Tyndale students through student financial aid and the Tyndale Music Fund.

Thank you to all who attended this joyful celebration. As we approach Good Friday and Easter Sunday, may the reality of life in Christ bring you great hope and comfort.
