History of Christianity II

— HIST CM24 (3)

Surveys the history of Christianity from the time of the Reformation to the beginning of the 20th century. It explores the new currents in spirituality, theology, missions, worship, organization, and interaction with society that emerged out of the Reformation. Through the reading of key primary documents from the different traditions, students are challenged to broaden their understandings of each of these themes. This interaction with the Christian story when the Church faced the dramatic cultural changes of the last centuries also helps the student wrestle with the complexities of faith in this increasingly fluid world.
