HOPE AQ59 | Additional Qualification Course

Course Description

This AQ course provides educators with hands-on experience using assistive technology to create more accessible and inclusive classrooms. Participants will explore practical strategies, design resources, and reflect on their practice to better support the diverse learning needs of students.

By the end of this course, students will be able to explain the ethical, legal, and pedagogical foundations of assistive technology in Ontario schools and apply this knowledge to classroom practice. They will be able to select and implement appropriate tools to support diverse learners. Students will design lessons and assessments that integrate assistive technology to promote accessibility and equity. They will also collaborate with families, colleagues, and community partners to strengthen inclusive practices. Finally, students will evaluate the impact of assistive technology on classroom learning and develop strategies for staying current with emerging tools and professional resources.

Delivery Format

Asynchronous Online — Instructors and students engage in the course content at different times and from different locations. Attendance at a specific time or location is not required.

  • Deadline date: Course start date.
  • Candidates can still register after the deadline, until three days after the course start date
  • Course Fees: $730
  • Late registration fee: $50
