Mission Statement:
The Pregnancy Help Centre is a non-profit Christian organization that exists to extend the love of God to people who may be distressed due to pregnancy in Durham Region.
Opportunity Description:
On-site volunteers staff our drop-in centre for women and families that are pregnant or parenting a child under 5 in the community. We serve mainly single parent and low income families of all age demographics.
Available shifts are 4-5 daytime hours on a Monday or Wednesday. Staff supervison is available onsite. There are also opportunities to accompany a staff member to facilitate high school presentations on healthy relationships and sexuality.
On site volunteers:
-Conduct client intake and registration
-Provide emotional and spiritual support our clients and families
-Organize and distribute supplies free of charge to our clients
A police check with vulnerable sector screening and references are required.
Training is required and provided before coming onsite.
