Opportunity Description:
The Salvation Army in the Jane/Finch area of Toronto is looking for students to help in their Kid-Z-Own Afterschool Program. Kid-Z-own is for children ages 6-12 and runs Monday – Friday. Placement students help in the preparation and implementation of the program. Kid-Z-Own’s purpose is to assist in encouraging elementary school children, many of whom have immigrant parents, in their academic studies, and their social and spiritual development. The program offers a variety of activities which include providing snack, helping children with homework (often involves tutoring), reading time, arts and crafts, sports, games and computer time.
