Developing Intercultural Competency for Ministry

Developing Intercultural Competency for Ministry   [MISS 0688]

Course Dates: Monday June 22, 2015 to Friday June 26, 2015
 Faculty: Dr. Robert Cousins
Course Description

God’s people are called to participate in God’s mission of blessing the nations of this world. With the movement of peoples, cities like Toronto have become multicultural centres where the nations are gathered in close geographical proximity.  If we are going to engage in missional ministry, in Toronto and beyond, it will mean having to cross cultural boundaries to build trusting relationships.

This course seeks to develop intercultural competencies for Christian leaders. Students will learn how to develop greater cultural self-awareness, knowledge and skills, enabling them to serve more effectively in  intercultural settings  in North America or around the world.

*Note: MISS 0688 is a required course for Global Mission and Intercultural Studies majors at the Seminary. The title of this course has been changed from "Intercultural Communication" to "Developing Intercultural Competency for Ministry."
