Commences with an examination of the English and Scottish Reformations, then investigates aspects of Elizabethan Puritanism, contrasting the latter development (16th century) with 17th century Dissenting Puritanism. The works of three respective Puritan thinkers are read: Bunyan, Baxter and Edwards. Same as HIST 0764 and THEO 0635. Prerequisites: THEO 0531 and THEO 0532.
