Early English Protestant Spirituality

Commences with an examination of the English and Scottish Reformations, then investigates aspects of Elizabethan Puritanism, contrasting the latter development (16th century) with 17th century Dissenting Puritanism. The works of three respective Puritan thinkers are read: Bunyan, Baxter, and Edwards. Same as HIST 764 and THEO 635. Prerequisites: THEO 531, 532.
