Tyndale Horsey Express Info

Welcome to the J. William Horsey Library Express! As much of our book collection  held in storage rooms behind the library, we've adopted a  system to help you retrieve the books that you need.

IMPORTANT: All items listed as being in Main Library STORAGE are available for retrieval through the Horsey Express service.  We are currently working on bringing OFFSITE  books back on campus, so we may actually be able to find some of the  items listed as being OFFSITE and UNAVAILABLE. Ask Library staff to check the call number of the OFFSITE book that you want. Most OFFSITE items however are currently unavailable –  but may be requested from another library by clicking the blue “Request Item through Interlibrary Loan” button.

Items that require the Horsey Express

Please fill out the Tyndale Horsey Express form and we will retrieve the following items for you:

  • Items listed as being in Main Library STORAGE  that are listed as "available".
  • All kits, pamphlets and print periodicals.

Self Serve Items

Items listed as available in the Main Library STACKS may be found on the shelves in either the Main Library or Education Library depending on the Call Number. You may retrieve them yourself from the library stacks:

The following call numbers are located on open shelves in the Main Library:

  • Main Library Stacks: B – BD, BH -BR, BS 1900-3000 that have the status "available".
  • All DVDs and CDs and Main Library Reference books

The following call numbers are located on open shelves in the Education Library:

  •  Main Library Stacks: BF, BS 1-1899, BX, D-DZ, L-N, P-PZ  that have the status "available".
  • Juvenile Collection, Teaching Tools, Education Kits and Manipulatives

Picking up requested items

Retrieved items will be available for pickup from the Horsey Express Shelf in the Main Library behind the circulation desk) one hour after we receive your request.

If the item is already checked out, we'll contact you and place you in the hold queue, notifying you by email when the item is ready. You may place requests up to 30 minutes before closing time. Requests made after this time will be available for pickup one hour after opening on the following business day. See J. William Horsey Library Hours to better plan your visit!
