Tyndale Foundation President Releases New Book

Thursday, February 17, 2011

Drawing on over 40 years of leadership in ministry, President of The Tyndale Foundation, Dr. Brian Stiller, has written a new book entitled You Never Know What You Have Till You Give It Away. Dr. Stiller’s life call has been to understand the times and lead accordingly, drawing his inspiration from the account in 1 Chronicles 12:32 which describes men who came to help David as, “Men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do.” Based on a lifetime of experience, Dr. Stiller has written this book to help build up a generation of leaders to know, understand and respond to their times.

You Never Know What You Have Till You Give It Away, published in November of 2010, is a collection 73 short devotional essays. The book is a reflection on the lessons Dr. Stiller has learned over the years. Some of the major topics include: The Art of Leading, Discerning the Times, and Taking Risks. The book includes quotations from noteworthy individuals such as Neil Young, Theodore Roosevelt and Howard Schultz. Dr. Stiller summarizes his approach in this way: “I unwrap the quote and end with a prayer, hopefully drawing people—as they pray—into a moment of personal prayer and reflection.” It appeals to a wide audience as he avoids the use of familiar religious language.

This is Dr. Stiller’s eleventh book. While in his role as President of The Tyndale Foundation, he continues to be a guest speaker, lecturer and consultant to churches and organizations. Dr. Stiller grew up on the prairies and received a BA in History at the University of Toronto, a Master of Religion from Wycliffe College and a DMin from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He also served as President of Tyndale from 1995-2009. Dr. Stiller’s book can be found online at Castle Quay Books. For more information or to contact Dr. Stiller, visit www.brianstiller.com.
